Share the free fishing with the otters in Barend Loch, where 14lb carp have been
caught.
 Cycling
Cycles are available for hire
on site. Dumfries
and Galloway has over 400 miles of signposted cycle routes, voted as
the best maintained in the UK. Country road cycling and mountain biking
is very popular in Dumfries and Galloway which has some of the best cycle
routes in the country.
Ride the 7 Stanes
Big country riding, rolling hills, views to die for and mile upon mile
of technical singletrack – it's all here in the south of Scotland,
some of the world's best biking, guaranteed.
In nearby Dalbeattie,
you can tackle route 3 of the "7Stanes" which includes the
Hardrock Trail (intermediate), Moyle Hill Trail (intermediate/easy)
and Ironhash
Trail
(easy).

Horse Riding
Horse riding and pony trekking
are available from the stables situated next to the loch.
Log Cabins
All of the Scandinavian
style chalets are comfortable, well equipped, with central
heating for year round use and have been awarded 3 stars by the Scottish
Tourist Board. There are "pets
welcome" as well as "pet-free" chalets.
There are three types of accommodation; all well equipped for the freedom of self-catering and our prices include bedlinen, towels and heating. All chalets are equipped with TV & DVD, some also still have video, some have dishwashers and some have satellite. If you require dishwasher or satellite these must be pre booked.
